Kitty

My first ever screen print.....still a bit of work to do

Soot spirit screen print purse

So this is the first zip-purse I've made in about a year, I almost completely forgot how to make them, but with a bit of trial and error, and with my new obsession with screen-printing I managed to come up with this soot spirit purse.

My inspiration was from the Linen Studio Ghibli purse I bought in China for about £1. Bargain!

Oyster Card Holder

So it's been a while.....I've been busy with my new job and generally getting back into the swing of living in London again. I've only just got my sewing machine out and seeing as my oyster card holder broke the other day I figured I'd have a go at making one.

Cute Asian Stuff

When I came back from China my backpack was SO incredibly heavy because of all the really cute stuff I just had to buy. There are a plethora of great little stationary/kitsch type shops out there that you just don't find back in the UK. Here are just a few of the things I picked up along the way:
Tiny wee notebook called 'My Rabbit Story'

A Great Little Card Reader for SD cards and sim cards!

Does anyone know of any shops that would sell stuff like this? Online? in the UK? Anywhere really!

Purses and Totes

A few of the purses I've made so far, I haven't done any sewing for nearly half a year (because I've been away) and so It's going to take a while to get the hang of it again. I'm pretty much a complete beginner and sometimes what I make doesn't come out as good as I'd imagine. But that won't stop me, I'm just going to keep practicing. So basically I've designed this blog for anyone out there who is much more of an expert than me to maybe give me some good sewing tips. First of all, I only have a mini sewing machine, but that's just fine for making small thinks like purses and tote bags, just as long as the fabric isn't too thick. So I tend to stick to cotton. It's a £50 Sewing machine from John Lewis and it's very very cute:

And here are a few tote bags I've made:
This bag above was the very first bag I ever made and it looks more like a clothes peg bag than a tote bag!
Didn't quite get the hang of the straps! Straps are my Achilles Heal when it comes to bags!
